COVID-19 Notice for Jurors

To protect public health and safety, the Judicial Branch has a COVID-19 Phased Management Plan, which limits certain court operations, including jury service. Currently no civil jury trials are being held. Both the U.S. and the Maine Constitutions include guarantees to certain criminal defendants for trial by jury, and trial by jury is a cornerstone of our criminal justice system. If you have been summonsed for jury service, it is for a criminal matter. Please follow the instructions provided to you by the court. If you have questions about jury service, contact your court directly. The role of citizen jurors is essential to our justice system, and we greatly appreciate your willingness to serve during these challenging times.

Courthouse entry screening requirements and additional restrictions are in effect and apply to all courthouse visitors and employees. You will be required to wear a face covering or mask that covers the nose and mouth at all times while in a courthouse. See all visitor restrictions and contact your court with questions. See the Superior Court Directory.

Please note that courthouse hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and hours may differ at some locations to meet one or more of the Phased Management Plan's requirements. See all court alerts and closings.

If you have questions about whether you should go to a courthouse for jury service, please call your court. See the Superior Court Directory.
