Criminal and Juvenile Case Types Launch as Part of Maine eCourts in Rumford, Farmington, and South Paris Courts
Date: 10/8/2025
On Monday, September 22nd, courts in Rumford, Farmington, and South Paris completed the transition to electronic filing and case management with the addition of criminal and juvenile case types in the Maine eCourts system. The latest implementation comes just three months after courts in Lewiston and Auburn fully transitioned. Attorneys and other professional filers are required to eFile documents with courts in Region 3 -- Androscoggin, Oxford, and Franklin counties -- in all case types. Unrepresented parties are not required to eFile.
The September 22nd Maine eCourts go-live included the following installations in the Oxford and Franklin County Unified Criminal Dockets (UCDs), Oxford and Franklin County Superior Courts, and South Paris, Farmington, and Rumford District Courts:
- Enterprise Justice Digital Case Management System - for the processing and management of criminal, civil violation, and juvenile cases
- Warrant, Bail, and Criminal History Records Information (CHRI) integrations
- eFileMaine for the submission and processing of criminal and juvenile electronic case filings
- Text Notification Service for adult criminal hearing reminders
- Maine eCourts Criminal Fines & Fees Payment the new online payment service for criminal fines
- re:SearchMaine for party and public access to electronic files in criminal and juvenile cases
- Bank Integration a new centralized process to manage bail check disbursements
The Judicial Branch extends its thanks to District Attorney Neil McLean, Jr. and the entire staff of the District Attorney's Office for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford Counties for their collaboration with this project. Their dedication contributed substantially to the success of this implementation.
Planning is underway to bring courts in Region 4 - Augusta, Waterville, and Skowhegan - online with Maine eCourts in February 2026.
