Maine Judicial Branch Warns of Active Text Message Scam

The Maine Judicial Branch is aware of an active scam targeting residents through text messages. These messages falsely claim to be from the "Maine Department of Motor Vehicles(DMV)." These messages include a scam link to pay. If you receive one of these message, do not click on the link and do not provide any personal information in response. Representatives from Maine's actual Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) have shared that the BMV does not send notifications about suspension via text and they are urging people not to click the message link.
