Foreclosure Diversion Program Launches First Call Pilot in Bridgton District Court
July 7, 2014 - Today, the Foreclosure Diversion Program (FDP) launched the “First Call” Pilot Project at Bridgton District Court.
To date, the First Call Pilot Project has been implemented at FDP processing courts in Bangor, Rockland, Ellsworth, Portland, West Bath, Caribou, Springvale, Lewiston and Rumford. The project will operate statewide by the end of 2014. It eliminates the delay between the informational session and first mediation session and brings the parties together earlier in the process. All cases at the informational session proceed to mediation that same day. Multiple mediators are available. In mediation, parties discuss any options to foreclosure that may be available to them. Based on information shared at this mediation, the parties make a clear plan of action that is recorded in the mediator’s report.
