Foreclosure Diversion Program Launches First Call Pilot in Augusta District Court
August 5, 2014 - Today, the Foreclosure Diversion Program (FDP) launched the “First Call” Pilot Project at Augusta District Court.
With the launch of the new process in Augusta, the "First Call" day is now operating in all of the FDP processing courts, and effectively ends the pilot project. This includes courts in Bangor, Rockland, Ellsworth, Portland, West Bath, Caribou, Springvale, Lewiston, Rumford, Bridgton and Augusta. The "First Call" day eliminates the delay between the informational session and first mediation session and brings the parties together earlier in the process. All cases at the informational session proceed to mediation that same day. Multiple mediators are available. In mediation, parties discuss any options to foreclosure that may be available to them. Based on information shared at this mediation, the parties make a clear plan of action that is recorded in the mediator’s report.
