Performance Council Recognition and Awards ProgramThe Judicial Branch is able to achieve its mission through the dedicated efforts of the many people who work for and with Maine’s Judicial Branch. The awards program recognizes people who have contributed in a variety of ways. For some, it is the consistent and exceptional contributions made over the course of a career. For others, it is recognition of some outstanding commitment that was demonstrated during the last year.
OUTSTANDING JUDICIAL EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR: That person (or persons) who, during the course of the preceding year has best exemplified the qualities of competence in providing court services, commitment to public service, respect, courtesy to fellow employees and members of the public, and a willingness to learn and grow.
OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR: That person (or program) who, in a voluntary capacity, assists the Judicial Branch in fulfilling its mission of administering justice by providing an accessible, efficient and impartial system of dispute resolution.
JUDICIAL BRANCH CAREER PERFORMANCE AWARD: That person or persons who consistently contributes above and beyond expected job responsibilities to further the Judicial Branch mission.
ADVOCATE FOR JUSTICE AWARD: That person, judge, employee, legislator, public official, lawyer or citizen who has most effectively championed the cause of justice in our society.
SPECIAL SERVICE AWARDS FOR INDIVIDUALS OR TEAMS: Those who make a contribution to improvements in the operation and performance of the Judicial Branch that is deserving of public recognition. “
THE ROY RICE AWARD: That person, group, or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the safety and well-being of the employees of the Judicial Branch and those persons who participate in court activities.
