Guardians ad Litem (GALs) Services Survey

The Maine Judicial Branch is interested in evaluating the services of guardians ad litem who work on certain cases that come before the court. Therefore, the Judicial Branch is asking parents and their attorneys in completed family law and child protection cases to answer a brief survey about their experience with the guardian ad litem's services. Family law cases include divorces and parental rights and responsibilities cases. Child protection cases are cases filed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) involving allegations that a child has suffered abuse or neglect.

Survey One: If you are a parent who was involved in a child protection matter, please complete Survey One entitled, "Survey of Parents Regarding Guardians ad Litem in Child Protection Cases."

Survey Two: If you were a parent who was involved in a family law matter, please complete Survey Two entitled, "Survey of Parents Regarding Guardians ad Litem in Family Law Cases."

Survey Three: If you are an attorney who represented a parent in a child protection matter, please complete Survey Three entitled, "Survey of Attorneys Regarding Guardians ad Litem in Child Protection Cases."

Survey Four: If you were an attorney who represented a parent in a family law matter, please complete Survey Four entitled, "Survey of Attorneys Regarding Guardians ad Litem in Family Law Cases."
