Important Information Regarding a Change in Record Search Processing
The Maine Judicial Branch is expanding the number of courts participating in a pilot program to enable the Judicial Branch Service Center, located in Lewiston, Maine, to process record checks typically performed by court clerks. The pilot started on July 1, 2014 in the York County Superior Court in Alfred and is now expanding to include record checks conducted in all courts in Penobscot, Piscataquis, and York Counties.
On October 15, 2014, the Service Center will expand its pilot program to the Biddeford District Court, York District Court, Penobscot County Superior Court, Bangor District Court, Lincoln District Court, Millinocket District Court, Newport District Court, Piscataquis County Superior Court, and the Dover-Foxcroft District Court. The York County Superior Court in Alfred and Springvale District Court will continue to participate in the pilot and the remaining courts in the State will be incrementally brought into the pilot throughout the year.
