ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER JB-05-19

 

DEADLINE FOR FILING PETITION FOR EMANCIPATION

WHEN AN ATTORNEY IS APPOINTED BY THE COURT

TO REPRESENT THE PETITIONER

 

Effective:  August 1, 2005

 

 

Upon the written request filed with the clerkÕs office by a juvenile sixteen years of age or older requesting that the court appoint counsel for the juvenile for the purpose of filing a petition for emancipation of the juvenile, the court shall appoint counsel.  The appointed counsel shall file a Petition for Emancipation within thirty days of receiving notice of the appointment, or the matter is subject to dismissal by the court at the request of the clerk without further notice to counsel or the juvenile and without prejudice.
